Monica Beurer
Biography
Monica Beurer was born in Bülach near Zürich in 1961. After training as a primary school teacher, she soon discovered her love of the photographic medium. As an assistant with an advertising and fashion photographer, she became an enthusiastic photographer herself - a classic "autodidact", so to speak.
Today Monica Beurer lives and works in Zürich as a freelance photographer in the fields of journalism, dance, theater and art photography. Since 1990, she has also been teaching photography at the School of Art and Media Design and the Zürich University of Teacher Education, where she is keen to pass on her enthusiasm for this medium to young people. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad.
