Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine)

Biography

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (born February 12, 1982 in Mpigi District), better known by his stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, musician, actor and philanthropist. He has represented Kyadondo East constituency in Wakiso District in the Parliament of Uganda since July 2017. In reference to his social background, he is also called "Ghetto President" by the media. He attracted worldwide attention in August 2018 for his imprisonment and an accompanying charge of treason. He ran for Uganda's 2021 presidential election and won 34.83 percent of the votes cast, second only to incumbent Yoweri Museveni.
